The First Weeks Home

Well, we've made it two weeks at home so far and adjusting to having 2 little ones is not too bad. It helps that Jarrod is home most of the week with paternity leave.

Our stay in the hospital was wonderful. We were able to get much more sleep this time around. Our nurses were wonderful and very supportive of us getting lots of rest. We didn't have too many visitors, but some of our friends from our small group came up to see Stella. It was very a laid back and relaxing time overall.

We got home Friday afternoon and were so blessed to have my sister waiting for us. We had been planning on her visiting this weekend for over a month since she'll be in Washington state all summer completing a PT clinical experience. Her presence made the transition so much easier, as she was able to do whatever Jarrod and I were not able to do at the moment. She played with Jed, made dinner, cared for Stella while we slept and so much more! Thank you Pam! She brought Jed a surprise (below). He just loves this Thomas tent (except when it walks around!).

We were blessed with the free gift of a used double stroller (Thank you Peterson Family!) which Adam(Pam's boyfriend) spent over an hour cleaning up and oiling. He was using the shop vac from which Jed found this "telescope" for optimum train watching. Here's Stella! She sleeps well at night - now we just need to master this thing called nursing. Then we'll be all set!
Jarrod, bless his heart, wanted to do something special to encourage me, so he picked up some chocolate doughnuts! Yum! We were enjoying a lazy morning when I realized that Jed was in the kitchen and very quiet. I looked over to see him grab a doughnut out of the box and take a BIG bite. He was so proud that he was able to help himself to breakfast.
Stella's second bath. She didn't like the first one either.
Stella's favorite place to sleep is either on Jarrod or I. We both don't mind it one bit.
It was absolutely gorgeous out sometime last week (time is already slipping away from me). Since we all wanted to be outside, we had to bring Stella too. It's hard to enjoy the outdoors when the littlest one should not be in the sun.
Jed's trying out Stella's papasan chair, err . . . his papasan chair?
Do you think someone really enjoys being Dad? I do!
Jarrod and I overestimate Jed's ability to play anything that requires some sort of organization. So we picked up tee ball for him. He hits the ball really well off the tee and thinks it's great fun.
But, he has just as much fun putting flowers in the hole in the tee!
And to leave you with something so sweet . . . a twinkling star!
